"..making optimum use of their combined instrumental skills with integrity and joy" - Manchester jazz festival

Nicola is a regular on the Jazz Festival stage, Radio 3 Jazz Requests and has appeared on Radio 3 Jazz Line-up. She has played double bass and sung alongside many jazz greats including Dave Newton, Digby Fairweather, Jim Mullen, Bruce Adams, Alan Barnes, Eliane Elias and Courtney Pine.

Her programme covers a broad mix of well and lesser know jazz standards (Silver Lining, Day In Day Out, Beautiful Friendship, The Song Is You..) with strong influences from an eclectic range of singers and players including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'Day, Aretha Franklin, Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, Tony Williams, Wynton Kelly, Stan getz and Kenny Garrett. The arrangements are compelling, occasionally quirky and always staying true to their swinging roots. The set also includes some very well received melodic and extremely catchy originals written and arranged by Nicola Farnon.

With Nicola's trio you get a lot of musical talent for such a small band as her trio comprises voice, tenor sax, piano, double bass and drums. Piero Tucci - 'a jazzer's dream, as unpretentiously skillful on keys as he is on sax." Sandman magazine - and Phil Johnson 'impeccable craftsmanship' Jazzwise - combine with Nicola to give a performance that will startle you with it's genuine love of music and melody. They all aim to enjoy themselves fully, to entertain joyfully - and to swing yer socks off!

These are the premium seats, each one having clear sight lines to the stage. You can request to be seated in Dizzy (raked theatre), Duke (side wall), Monk or Bird (bar) or Billie (front of stage) and we will do our best to allocate you to your favourite seats on a first come, first served basis. Each of these seats is at a table or bar where you can order food and drink with table service.

Standing tickets are for the bar area behind the seated auditorium. We politely ask that you stand within this area so as not to obscure the view of the seated audience.

The two areas by the front windows are generally used for group bookings. In the event that there are no groups in for a specific show, we will make available seated tickets, some of which are slightly restricted viewing.

We are able to cater for bookings of up to 22 people in the area 'Ella', up to 12 in 'Satchmo' and up to 10 in the area called 'Mingus'.
We can also arrange for a standing buffet for more people on request

Advance ticket sales finish at 18:30 on the day of the concert. We often agree a split of ticket takings in the artist's favour, and so we are inclined to add a premium to tickets purchased on the door to encourage them to come back and perform for us again!
