Their debut album, ‘Little Things’ released in 2016 on Birmingham's Stoney Lane Records, comprises largely original tunes by penned by Foote, full of catchy melodies and danceable grooves.
Young Pilgrims are:
Richard Foote and Kieran McLeod - Trombones
Mike Adlington, Sean Gibbs and Aaron Diaz - Trumpets
Michael Owers - Sousaphone
Andy Isherwood - Baritone Saxophone
Jonathan Silk and Euan Palmer - Drums
“They are not only one of the finest brass bands we've seen but one of the most energetic, vibrant and fresh artists around. The perfect festival act!” - Mostly Jazz Festival
“The Young Pilgrims appeared as if from nowhere, spontaneously creating a performing space and delighting festival-goers with a New Orleans-inspired chant. The band is fronted by two athletic trombonists (always a bonus) and powered by an impressively funky (and equally impressively bearded) sousaphone player.” – John L Walters, for the Jazz Breakfast
“ What it always is is a good-time, get-up-and-jump-around band, but at the same time it’s satisfying to listen to without getting out of your chair. The arrangments are inventive, the counter melodies clever, the horn voicings not always obvious.” - Peter Bacon, The Jazz Breakfast
