Nottingham Jazz Jam with Guest Artist: BEN MARTIN (Saxophone)

Sunday 21st October 2018

1:00pm - 5:00pm

Nottingham born Ben Martin is arguably the most prominent tenor player in the East Midlands and we're delighted to have him making a welcome return to the jazz jam session. Ben draws upon all aspects of the jazz tradition from New Orleans to Swing, Bebop, Hard Bop & Free. He leads his own quartet (featuring members of our house band!), and as a sideman has worked with artists including: Kenny Wheeler, Andy Sheppard, Jim Mullen & Groove Armada amongst many other jazz and pop artists. Ben appeared in our last session alongside Pat McCarthy, so we're looking forward to having him as our featured artist for October!

"A soloist of immaculate taste, soul and lyricism" - John Fordham (The Guardian)
